Trial proves success: Heat stable Phytase

Distributed by Redox under the consideration of Animal Nutritionists, our heat stable phytase optimises chicken performance, adding value and giving farmers a competitive edge within the market.

Available in both granular and liquid forms, Phytase is a feed-grade enzyme added to poultry and swine diets to help release phosphorus from Phytate, an indigestible anti-nutritional factor found in grains and oil seeds.

The key for optimising chicken performance, is adding phytase to meet optimal dietary calcium and phosphorus requirements, and not the full replacement of inorganic non-phytate phosphorus.

A trial conducted with the University of Sydney, used VRT phytase in broiler diets which were pelleted at 80°C and mixed with whole grain wheat. After forty two days, the addition of phytase improved chicken body weight by 2.9% (3386 gram vs 3488 gram) with a feed conversation ratio (FCR) of 1.44.

At Redox, we are bridging the gap between the world’s premier ingredient manufacturers and feed producers with a team of Animal Nutritionists and industry experts guiding clients to maximise performance and improve quality. With twelve branches across four countries, friendly help is not far away!

Recruitment Scams

Take care to avoid fraudulent communications purporting to be on behalf of Redox. Find out what to do if you receive an email you think is fraudulent.

Recent incidents have occurred involving organisations falsely claiming to recruit on behalf of Redox. These organisations, claiming to either work for or be affiliated with Redox, notify individuals that their qualifications were found suitable to work as an employee (local or expatriate) for Redox and solicit the transfer of significant sums of money to pay for work permits, insurance policies, etc.

Please note that Redox does not (nor do any of the organisations that recruit on our behalf) ever ask for money or payments from applicants at any point in the recruitment process. All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer of employment from Redox, whether directly or indirectly, are always required to go through a formal recruitment process.

Please note that these communications are fraudulent. They do not originate from Redox nor are they associated with Redox’s recruitment process.

Salient points of such communications are that they come from non-Redox email addresses (e.g. from a yahoo.com address); the use of English is poor; and at some stage money is requested. Please note all authentic correspondence from Redox will sent from a redox.com email address.

We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited business propositions and/or offers from people with whom you are unfamiliar. Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know. If you receive such proposals, we would advise you to contact your local police station and provide them with all information you may have from the senders (email addresses, phone/fax details, etc.).

Product Focus – Acetone

Distributed by Redox, Acetone is a versatile chemical that is used primarily in industrial and laboratory settings, and also safe for personal care applications such as nail polish remover. The wide range of uses confirms Acetone as a staple in the manufacturing of products and the delivery of services across all industries.

Acetone is currently produced from petrochemicals as a co-product of phenol, however has a history of high purity acetone being made from the fermentation of sugars derived from corn and other agricultural products. It is a colourless, volatile, flammable liquid classified as a Class 3 dangerous good, and is the simplest and smallest ketone.

As a ketone being more oxidizing than alcohol, Acetone dissolves both waterborne and oily residues, making for a more flexible cleaning agent and solvent. As a solvent it is used as a volatile component in some paints and varnishes, for thinning polyester resin, cleaning tools, widely used in the fibreglass industry, also as a heavy duty degreaser and in the preparation of metal before prior to painting. It’s also used as a chemical intermediate, in laboratories, medial and cosmetic products, and within the domestic market.

At Redox, we have established strong dynamic relationships with clients and suppliers due to our commitment to quality assurance and attention to material handling processes. Constant review and management of all our changing processes ensures we maintain best business practices, while acting in accordance with the relevant industry standards.

DSM connecting colour & functionality

Distributed by Redox, DSM’s Stanyl® is a high-performance nylon/polyamide (PA46) solution that enable manufacturers to overcome persistent challenges of including colour within a products design while still maintaining its functionality. Stanyl® provides a solution for leading engineers in the consumer electronics industry where they are no longer constrained by the design limitation of Liquid Crystal Polymers (LCP).

Previously, product design in the consumer electronic industry has been limited by the properties of a particular material, bringing uniformed products from a variety of different manufacturers. Unlike LCP, Stanyl® can be moulded into white and bright Chroma colours, providing the opportunity for innovative designs and differentiation.

By choosing Stanyl® for your application you can unlock exceptional product development through:

  • Metal replacement: Stanyl® combines high stiffness with excellent wear resistance in temperatures above 200°C (and for short term peak temperatures up to 250°C) enabling metal replacement options for a variety of applications.
  • Outstanding durability: Stanyl® provides excellent resistance to wear and low friction. And has good abrasion resistance for moving parts.
  • Easier processing:Thanks to its outstanding flow properties that beat competitive materials, Stanyl® delivers commercial benefits through reduced cycle time and increased design freedom for manufacturers producing computer and phone components.
  • Flammability rating: Halogen-free Stanyl® grades available for connectors requiring the UL94-V0 flammability rating.

Product Focus –Taurine

Ever wondered what ingredient gives you wings? Supplied by Redox, Taurine is an amino acid, often produced in our body that is required as a building block of protein. Taurine is a preferred ingredient across the pet food and beverage industries, providing value to products through its health benefiting properties.

Taurine is found in large amounts within the brain, retina, heart, and blood cells called platelets. The best food sources are meat and fish. When it is synthesized for commercial use, taurine is made from isetheonic acid or through the reaction of aziridine with sulphurous acid.

For cats, unlike humans and dogs, taurine is an essential amino acid and it cannot be produced naturally. The main source of taurine is provided by cat food, with a lack of taurine leading to heart and eye disease in the species. Within the beverage industry, taurine is commonly found within energy and performance based drinks, which is due to its physiological effect to improve muscular function and physical performance. It is also known to have other health benefits against congestive heart failure and in some cases liver disease.

Redox is one of the worlds most trusted names within the industry of wholesale ingredients, with more than 50 years of loyal service to the industry. We employ stringent quality management systems which allow seamless integration into our clients businesses, providing the peace of mind that clients crave.
