Environment and Community
Redox has fitted its Australian sites with photovoltaic solar generation systems, bringing our total capacity to 600kW. Redox is committed to installing more solar power generation systems as a practical environmental initiative and to reduce operating expenses.
As a result of these efforts and others, Ecovadis has awarded Redox the Bronze Medal sustainability rating.
In 2023 Redox also commenced the transition to zero-emission vehicles and began the installation of electric car charging infrastructure at it’s sites.
Our commitment to the community goes beyond just environmental efforts. We are equally devoted to making a positive impact on the communities in which we work, and providing our employees with the opportunity to give back through our paid volunteering programs, empowering them to make their own contributions.
Marketplace
Redox has clear waste management and disposal policies and procedures for all its managed sites. These policies and procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure all waste is appropriately classified and managed in line with applicable legislation. Hazardous waste is classified by authorised personnel and disposed of by suppliers licensed to accept waste for treatment in accordance with the environmental authority in each jurisdiction.
Waste and The Circular Economy
Redox recognises the impact of product packaging on the waste stream and is actively engaged in reducing that impact across its operations. The Group offers returnable packaging solutions and package-free bulk delivery options, and preferences returnable hire pallets and pooled equipment. In many of its locations, Redox utilises reconditioned drums and intermediate bulk containers which are returned and refilled multiple times. Pneumatic and liquid tanker deliveries are also used where appropriate, which eliminates packaging waste at the point of delivery.
The Group also participates in product stewardship programmes that support responsible waste management within the value chain, including:
- drumMUSTER: A member since 2012, this Australian national programme facilitates the collection and recycling of empty agricultural and veterinary chemical containers. Since January 2020, Redox has paid levies for the collections and disposal of [27,653] 20 litre containers and [4,738] 200 litres drums, in total almost 81 tonnes, as part of the programme.
- Agrecovery: Joined in 2025. Agrecovery is an agrichemical container recycling and chemical recovery scheme for New Zealand farmers and growers. This government-accredited scheme supports the recovery and recycling of containers, drums, and certain polymer bags.
In line with the Group’s waste reduction and circularity ambitions, Redox is also a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO). Each year, Redox submits an annual report and action plan to APCO in support of Australia’s national packaging targets.
