According to the CSIRO Our Future World report the megatrend ‘Going, going…gone?’ is concerned with the perilous situation of the world’s ecological habitats and biodiversity where impacts have resulted in more consumption, the decline in habitats, plant species and animal species, increased greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. This trend also explores positive changes and a possibly bright future as whilst the state of biodiversity is in decline, the pressure for change and human response is increasing.

At Redox, we are committed to implementing practical environmental initiatives which lessen our impact on the environment. As such we have installed photovoltaic solar generation systems across five Australian sites in an effort utilise more sustainable resources. With a generation capacity of 3,200kW hours per day, the use of solar powered generation systems allows us to be one step closer in having minimal impact on the environment, decreasing our COemissions by 1,280,000 kg per annum – equivalent to 280 passenger cars or 5,380 computers.

We understand the importance of sustainability and ethical business practices that ensure the long term health and existence of the world’s ecological habituate and biodiversity. As such, we are members of various industry associations that not only set standards but also regulate ethical sourcing supply chains that ensure labour rights, health and safety, the environment and business ethics are uncompromised. Redox is currently a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), Sedex, EcoVadis, National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) and Chemistry Australia’s Responsible Care Program.

We have also expanded our product portfolio to include sustainable alternatives to ensure we not only minimise our impact on the environment but that we meet the growing demand of our increasing population. For example, our plant-based proteins are a sustainable solution to meat-based protein which as an industry is responsible for 14.5% of the world’s greenhouse gas emission. Plant protein production offers a lower environmental impact by reducing energy consumption, emissions, water consumption and land usage, while also being a healthy dietary option.
