The demand for animal-friendly and free products is on the rise as people gain greater access to information regarding production processes and product ingredients. This generational change has led to innovations in manufacturing and the development of animal free products. Redox is a distributor of L-Cysteine (Cysteine), a synthetic amino acid manufactured by CJ CheilJedang (CJ) as part of their Aminature vegan range.

Cysteine is a semi-essential proteinogenic amino acid which has historically been obtained by hydrolysis of animal materials, such as poultry feathers or swine hair. CJ’s Cysteine, and its derivatives, however are produced through the use of an environmentally-friendly fermentation technology that uses glucose and raw sugar from natural corn. As one of the food and functional amino acids, Cysteine is used in:

  • food, such as marinades and chicken flavoured seasoning
  • as an ingredient for a variety of human health products, such as anti-oxidant supplements, joint and bone formulations, preparations for anti-inflammation and cognitive support
  • hair straightening, curl retention, anagen support formulations and skin care products
  • in pet food and to aid fur repair

Being a client of Redox means knowing what the next big thing is. We carefully select our supplier partners by their ability to create innovative solutions and identify ingredients which allow our customers to secure their ability to compete and generate lasting value. With a team professionals across a wide network, friendly help is not far away.
