There is considerable interest in the development of reduced protein diets with supplemental amino acids for broiler chickens. Dr Yumin’s paper covers the advantages from an economic, environmental, health and bird welfare position.
The paper discusses the relevant information regarding reduced protein diets, the increase in amino acids requirements to maintain immunity, nutrient digestibility and the interactions with gut pathogens. A comparison between various ideal amino acids diets is also included in his findings.
