Magnesium sulphate (MgSO4), commonly known as Epsom salt, is a versatile ingredient utilised in an array of industries, including animal health, crop production and personal care. Within the animal nutrition industry it is used as an animal feed (feed grade) to aid metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids (fats) and proteins, and for nerve activity and muscle contraction. For crops it improves soil fertility; creating an environment conducive for growth. It is also an active ingredient used in pain relieving lotions, creams and oils, within the personal care industry.
